Question 1

What is Vanilla Pixl?

Accepted Answer

Vanilla Pixl is a digital department and growth partner for small and medium-sized businesses. We design, build and manage digital assets that help businesses attract attention, generate enquiries and grow.

Our services can include websites, hosting, maintenance, SEO, AEO, analytics, AI automation and ongoing digital growth support.

We are not simply a website supplier. The aim is to provide businesses with the digital capability they would otherwise need to build internally.

Question 2

What makes Vanilla Pixl different from a traditional web design agency?

Accepted Answer

We take a longer-term approach. Rather than simply designing a website and handing it over, Vanilla Pixl can provide an ongoing digital service covering the website, hosting, maintenance, optimisation, analytics, SEO/AEO and additional digital growth capabilities. Think of Vanilla Pixl as an extension of your business — a digital department without the cost and complexity of building one internally.

Question 3

Who is Vanilla Pixl for?

Accepted Answer

Vanilla Pixl is primarily designed for SMEs that want a professional digital presence and ongoing digital support without needing to employ an entire internal digital team. We can work with businesses that need a new website, an improved existing presence, better visibility, better analytics, automation or a combination of these.

Question 4

Do you just build websites?

Accepted Answer

No. Websites are one part of what we provide. Vanilla Pixl combines premium design and development with hosting, maintenance, SEO, AEO, analytics, optimisation, AI and ongoing growth support. The goal is to create a digital asset that actively contributes to the business rather than simply existing online.

Question 5

Will my website be professionally designed?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every Vanilla Pixl website is designed around the individual business, its audience, positioning and objectives. We focus on visual quality, usability, responsive design, accessibility, performance, conversion and consistency with the client's brand.

Question 6

Will my website work on mobile devices?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Websites are designed responsively so they work across desktop, tablet and mobile devices. Mobile usability is treated as a core part of the design rather than an afterthought.

Question 7

Can my website include forms, booking systems, payments or other functionality?

Accepted Answer

Yes, depending on the requirements of the project. We can incorporate appropriate integrations and functionality such as enquiry forms, booking systems, payment systems, analytics, third-party services, automation and other digital tools.

Question 8

What does Website-as-a-Service mean?

Accepted Answer

Website-as-a-Service, or WaaS, means your website is provided as part of an ongoing monthly service rather than as a large one-off purchase. Your monthly service can include the website itself, hosting, maintenance, updates, support and other agreed digital services. This spreads the cost and allows Vanilla Pixl to continue improving and supporting the website over time.

Question 9

Do I own my website?

Accepted Answer

Vanilla Pixl operates a service-based Website-as-a-Service model. The website is provided as part of your ongoing subscription rather than being sold as a standalone digital asset. While your subscription remains active, you have access to and use of the website according to the terms of your agreement. The exact treatment of domains, client-supplied content, third-party services, data and transferable assets is set out in the individual client agreement.

Question 10

Why don't I simply buy the website outright?

Accepted Answer

The WaaS model removes the need for a large upfront website investment and provides an ongoing relationship rather than a one-off build. Instead of paying for a website and then being left to manage hosting, maintenance, updates, security and optimisation yourself, the ongoing service can cover these areas. This allows you to focus on running your business while Vanilla Pixl looks after the digital side.

Question 11

What happens to my website if I stop paying?

Accepted Answer

Because the website forms part of an ongoing Website-as-a-Service subscription, continued use of the Vanilla Pixl website service is dependent on the subscription remaining active. If the agreement ends, the website service and associated Vanilla Pixl-provided infrastructure may be withdrawn in accordance with the contract. Any arrangements concerning domains, client-owned content, data, third-party services or transferable assets will be handled according to the terms of the individual agreement.

Question 12

How much does Vanilla Pixl cost?

Accepted Answer

Pricing depends on the level of service, website requirements and additional digital services selected. Vanilla Pixl uses monthly recurring pricing so clients can access an ongoing digital service without necessarily needing to make a large upfront website investment. The current packages and available add-ons are shown on the relevant pricing/service pages.

Question 13

Is there an upfront cost?

Accepted Answer

Depending on the package and project requirements, there may be an initial setup, onboarding or project fee in addition to the monthly service. The exact pricing will always be made clear before the client commits.

Question 14

What does the monthly fee cover?

Accepted Answer

This depends on the package selected. Depending on the service, the monthly fee may include the website, hosting, maintenance, technical support, updates, monitoring, analytics, SEO/AEO and other agreed digital services. Any additional services or add-ons will be clearly identified before purchase.

Question 15

Can I add services later?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Vanilla Pixl is designed to grow with your business. Additional services such as SEO, AEO, analytics, AI automation, consultancy or other digital capabilities can be added where appropriate.

Question 16

Can I use my existing domain?

Accepted Answer

Yes. If you already own your domain, Vanilla Pixl can work with it where technically appropriate.

Question 17

Do I need to buy a domain separately?

Accepted Answer

A domain is separate from the website service. Vanilla Pixl can help with domain setup and configuration, but domain ownership and registration arrangements will be clearly identified as part of the onboarding process.

Question 18

Who hosts my website?

Accepted Answer

Your website is hosted using the infrastructure specified for your Vanilla Pixl service. Hosting forms part of the ongoing digital service where included within your package.

Question 19

Can I keep my domain if I leave Vanilla Pixl?

Accepted Answer

Your domain is separate from the website service and can generally remain with you, subject to the domain registrar and the specific arrangements established during onboarding. Vanilla Pixl will provide reasonable assistance with domain transfer or DNS changes where applicable, in accordance with the client agreement.

Question 20

Do you provide SEO?

Accepted Answer

Yes. SEO can be included within selected services or added separately. The objective is to improve the website's ability to be discovered by relevant users through search engines and other discovery platforms.

Question 21

What is AEO?

Accepted Answer

AEO stands for Answer Engine Optimisation. It focuses on structuring and presenting information so that it can be better understood and surfaced by modern answer engines and AI-powered search experiences. Vanilla Pixl considers both traditional search and the evolving AI-driven discovery landscape.

Question 22

Do you guarantee Google rankings?

Accepted Answer

No reputable digital provider can guarantee specific organic search rankings. Vanilla Pixl focuses on implementing sound strategies, measuring performance and continually improving the digital presence.

Question 23

Can Vanilla Pixl help me grow my business?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Growth consultancy can form part of the wider Vanilla Pixl service. Question 26

Will AI replace my existing staff?

Accepted Answer

The purpose of AI and automation is not automatically to replace people. In many cases, the greatest opportunity is to reduce repetitive work, improve efficiency and give employees more time to focus on higher-value activities. Any automation should be implemented around the needs and objectives of the business.

Question 27

Will I be able to see how my website is performing?

Accepted Answer

Yes, where analytics are included and configured. Vanilla Pixl can provide analytics and reporting to help clients understand areas such as website traffic, engagement, acquisition channels, conversions and other relevant performance indicators.

Question 28

What is the purpose of analytics?

Accepted Answer

Analytics turn website activity into useful information. Rather than simply knowing how many people visited a website, analytics can help identify where visitors came from, what they interacted with, where they left and which parts of the digital experience may need improvement.

Question 29

Do you provide growth consultancy based on the data?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Analytics are most useful when they inform decisions. Vanilla Pixl can use performance data to identify opportunities for optimisation, conversion improvement, SEO/AEO development, content changes, user-experience improvements and wider digital growth.

Question 30

Is my website secure?

Accepted Answer

Security is treated as an important part of the website development and ongoing management process. Appropriate security practices, platform protections, access controls, software updates and third-party services will depend on the technology used and the requirements of the project.

Question 31

How is my information handled?

Accepted Answer

Vanilla Pixl takes privacy and data protection seriously. Personal information is handled in accordance with the applicable privacy policy and relevant data protection requirements. Clients should review the Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy and Terms & Conditions for full details.

Question 32

Will you have access to my passwords?

Accepted Answer

Where technical access is required, Vanilla Pixl may need access to certain accounts or services. Access credentials should be provided securely and will only be used for the agreed purpose. Where appropriate, secure access methods should be used instead of sharing passwords directly.
